Animal Attraction - Sneak Peek at Charlene Teglia's Next Release

I am very fortunate to have some seriously talented authors among my friends. One of my faves is Charlene Teglia, who writes some hella-kickin books. I always go into spastic seizures when I hear she has a new one coming out. I've been known to growl and threaten people in the bookstores over the last copy. (Ok, totally making that up - but i would if it came to a showdown :P)
Her long awaited (insert heavy impatient sighs) Animal Attractions is due out in March. Here's a blurb she sent me, because i was a royal pain and begged and begged and begged, as well as a link to Amazon where you can reserve your very own copy. I mean come on - Charli and a shapeshifter story? I'm in reader heaven! :D Wanna find out more about Charli? Visit her website and blog!

Chandra Walker always hoped to find out who her birth parents were; she just
didn’t expect the truth to put her in the middle of a shapeshifter war with the
power to determine the outcome, complicated by a forbidden love for two
mates.
Animal Attraction - Coming March 17, 2009 to St. Martin’s Press (Trade paperback original)

Pimpage: ShapeShifter - The Demo Tapes

I don't know how many years I've known Susan now... seems like forever. But she is one of my favorite people as well as one of the most creatively gifted writers I know. The woman can whip out a brilliant segment based on ANYTHING! And her humor is brilliant. But what has always struck me most about her writing is how very real it is. If you have ever worked in, lived in, or in any way been involved in the world of music, her stories will resonate with a powerful chord. The interaction between her characters aren't simply reflections of life, they ARE life, imbued with the tangled threads of personalities straining against and growing together.

Of all her characters, my favorite has always been Trevor. Mmmmm.... love me my Trev. A brat, a bad boy, a sexy unapolgetic wolf in wolf's clothing he is the heart of Shapeshifter as well as its (smart)ass... and my, my, my... what a fine ass he has, all decked out in leather pants. LOL!

One of my favorite outtakes was Trevor's Shapeshifter Wall of Fame. Ermmm... my bra is so not hanging there (anymore) I swear. Here's a bit about the book that Susan has just released. Pop by and give her and Trev a shout. You'll be glad you did. Just...ummm... ladies... don't let the wicked Trevor sweet talk you out of your bra... ~grinning~

ShapeShifter : The Demo Tapes -- Year 1
A band's demo tape is intended to introduce listeners to their music. Likewise, this collection of short pieces allows readers into the fictional world of Trevor Wolff and his band, ShapeShifter.

Originally published online between April 2006 and March 2007, The Demo Tapes -- Year 1 brings together the moments that parallel -- but never encounter -- Susan Helene Gottfried's debut novel, Trevor's Song. Arranged chronologically and with introductions to each, this is a must-have volume for anyone who's ever wanted to hang with a rock band. For the longtime fan, being able to read about the adventures of Trevor Wolff and Mitchell Voss in chronologic order gives a new dimension to the boys' adventures.

Finn McLain is no stranger to unusual assignments. But the gorgeous stranger who just asked him to photograph her for an erotic art exhibit—that’s definitely a first. Finn came to Miami to dig into the personal life of boutique manager Roland Green for a lovesick gallery owner, and hadn’t planned on sticking around. But the boutique’s owner, Olivia Hammond, has just made him a proposal that’s as hard to ignore as Olivia herself. She’s got caramel-kissed skin, a body that makes grown men tremble, and a wild sideline as an exhibitionist. Ooookay. Yet despite her willingness to “let people look,” Finn’s convinced there’s a hell of a lot Olivia’s not revealing. And that’s the most intriguing prospect of all…
Olivia has never been shy about using her sexuality to get what she wants. But then, she’s never wanted a man quite the way she wants Finn. What he thinks about her shouldn’t matter, yet it does. Through every candid photograph and every heated encounter, Finn is getting closer, intent on getting beneath her shell—and for once, Olivia is tempted to let him. But first they have to contend with the fact that Finn’s simple investigation into Roland Green is getting dangerously complicated…and Olivia isn’t the only person in town who’s not what she claims to be.
In a city throbbing with sex appeal, two wary lovers are about to play the ultimate game of show and tell, where temptation is raw, wild, and hot enough to make you sizzle…

(I swiped that last bit from MG Braden.... talk about someone i haven't chatted with in ages...)

While we wait for Trevor and Susan... :P

Just a quick note while i wait for the pimpage info to come in...
Sometimes I feel like my life is a freaking rollercoaster... slowly chugging up the incline then suddenly and without warning, screaming down the precipice. I have no doubt it is like that for everyone. (If it's not - would ya turning the fucking TV off???) Just kidding!
Maybe the chug-chug times are the psychological down times...regrouping at a subconscious level. Hibernation as it were. I think there is only so much multi-tasking a person can do before they creatively flatline. And while I haven't been creatively dead really, I haven't had any brilliant ideas (well one - but that was inspired by my newest muse, and i can't take credit for it) or any real sense of purpose or direction. I really hate that feeling of just doing "time," existing, treading water... but i think it is probably necessary. Surely no one can go at it 120% all of the time. If they can, I wanna take whatever they're taking. Pass me the "drink me" bottle please. :P
I'm feeling that antsy, "i need to create" vibe growing again... and just the whisper of it has me smiling and looking forward with anticipation.
It's been an interesting year... I've made friends and lost friends and have been powerfully influenced by several that have moved on. It is always sad to see people you care for move on but it happens and it's not always a bad thing. It makes the ones that stick that much more potent.
I haven't been the best friend in the world to many people, having been wrapped up in my own mini dramas... actually I've sucked. So I think it's time, along with letting the creative valves open back up to full force, to re-embrace those who have patiently been waiting for me to get my shit back together and let 'em all know how much i care.
Errmmmm.... so that is like my stream of consciousness babbling for the week. :P
Time to get back to cleaning the house and sorting the things to be tossed... in more ways than one. Love y'all. xxxxx

PS - stole the picture from Pissy - love it!

Maestro's Butterfly - Rhonda Vamping the Kink or is that Kinking the Vamp?

First of all let me introduce you to one of my closest friends. She has been my partner in crime in more than one madcap adventure over the years. I think i was introduced to Claudio du Fresne about five or six years ago. And he left a lasting impression. I am beyond thrilled that Rhonda finally has her book out and several more on the way. It was soooo overdue. Check out her blog at http://rhondaleigherotica.blogspot.com/

Here is what the wenchy sent for some book pimpage:

The Maestro’s Butterfly by Rhonda Leigh Jones

Miranda O’Connell has just made a dangerous bet with her mysterious music teacher that will change her life forever – that she can stay at his estate for 30 days and still walk away.
She doesn’t know Claudio du Fresne is a vampire who keeps human slaves to feed from and use sexually, or that he is quick to punish with a sound spanking. Or that he has secretly brought his ruthless brother in on the bet.

Victoire "Jack" du Fresne wants a piece of the action. He will help Claudio ensure the survival of his risqué stage show, if Claudio agrees to his terms. If Miranda decides to stay after 30 days, she becomes Claudio’s property. If she decides to leave, she becomes Jack’s.
Those 30 days will open Miranda to a world of sexual possibility and dark desire, where fear and lust become one. If she can handle the intensity.

Will she fall in love with the kinky vampire, le Maestro Claudio du Fresne…or will she escape the confines of his estate for the dashing, dangerous charms of his brother?

Yup, I'm back and ready to pimp...BOOKS...pimping books!

My adventures in foreign lands is done and i'm home. ~grinning~ and yes, for those that aren't on FB - you finally have a picture of part of my face taken a few weeks ago. LOL!
Anyhoo - i'll be composing a post today about Susan's new book release with the fabo and famous Trevor Wolfe (he never did give me my bra back) and the band Shapeshifter, as well as pimping the hell out of Rhonda Leigh Jone's Maestro's Butterfly with the delish Claudio. I've known both of these male characters for years as they were fluttering their wings (okay - more like stomping around and leaving very lasting impressions!) and it is a great pleasure to see both finally in print.
So spread the word if you like or come back by later and chat - i'll be here for awhile this evening.
much love and where the hell is my coffee?
