Sorry for being so quiet. Dealing with some things. I haven't been good company.
I'm pulling this from my archives. Somewhat appropriate for right now (insofar as general emotion, not specifically) and for some reason i really like this poem.
Facing the Truth Within
Door slams
~red~
scarred and weathered
with my pain.
Box closes
~blue~
locking inside the secrets
I'll never tell.
Dreams scream
~purple~
filled with outrage
and regret.
Mirror shines
~black~
with the emptiness
of obsessions.
Courage ripples
~yellow~
facing the truth
of self delusions.
Peace wraps
~white~
a comforting hope
for the days ahead.
Memories of you
~grey~
as you steadily become
nothing to me.

Been there, done that. Sad but beautiful poem. Thank-you for sharing it.
That is indeed a sad and beautiful poem, very wellmade and with hope at the end which is the most important. And even more it is such a joy to hear your voice again,
Beautifully tragic.
If you'd add some impotent rage, because it wasn't her fault that Gulf War Syndrome made her insane -- then I might need to go bum a cigarette from somebody
I like the way you associate each color to the emotions! And I'm still worry about you, darling!
hey Lakota
Long ago I promised myself that I would not introduce people into my life that thrived on drama. Instead I married someone who was bi-polar with a borderline personality dissorder. It costs me to this day.
With clear concise answers before us she struggles away from the path.

Well said.
